The Whitney Museum is the Museum of American Art in New York City.
The ONE MILLION Whitney Edition, consisting of cups, bowls and jugs, reproduces Native American vessel shapes which, at the beginning of the 17th century, covered the valleys and adjacent areas along the Delaware River and the middle and lower Hudson River to the Atlantic Coast in what is now the inhabited Northeastern United States.
"In the beginning ONE MILLION sounded like a show of strength, like self-discipline, like quantitative size. Now I see the subtlety of the thought, the dimension of the whole."
René Straub - concept artist
